Joe Duff with daughter Mary McKeever and her son Jack

Drumconrath father and daughter all set for winning streak

A Drumconrath woman will take to the Winning Streak stage this Saturday (27th January) in place of her father whose name was selected to appear on the National Lottery game show on RTE One.

Mary McKeever told her husband Peter to turn down the TV last Saturday evening as she heard loud noises and people shouting next door where her parents live. Within seconds there was a loud knock at the door and pandemonium because the name of her father, Joe Duff, had been pulled out of the drum to appear on Winning Streak,

Mary will play for the Dad this Saturday and says she is more than happy to return the favour as he has always been there for her and her siblings.

Mary and Peter have two little boys Cian (5) and Jack (2). Mary will not be short of support on the show as in the Winning Streak studio on Saturday will be Joe and her mum Rosie; her three siblings; eight of Joe and Rosie’s ten grandchildren and two of their three great-grandchildren.

Mary says that Joe has no plans yet for spending his Winning Streak windfall but Rosie is hoping there is enough for a new patio! A retired farmer, Joe still keeps himself busy with a few cattle, horses and donkeys.

The next episode of Winning Streak, will be broadcast next Saturday evening (27th January) at 8:10pm on RTÉ One, where presenters Marty Whelan and Sinead Kennedy will guide five players through the show, which gives them the chance to win cash, cars and luxury holidays. One will get the once-in-a-lifetime chance to spin the Grand Prize Wheel with a maximum prize of €500,000.
