Five years after €280k win, Gerry lands another spin

They say that lightening cannot strike twice - but a Lottery win certainly can.
Skryne man Gerry Devins is living proof that Lotto luck can strike a second time.
On Saturday evening, he will appear on Winning Streak, five years after winning €278,200 in the same game show.
In fact his lucky ticket was pulled out of the drum last Saturday night, which was five years to the day from the night of his first big win.
Gerry, who works in Tara Mines, cannot believe his luck. “I couldn't believe it. It is very exciting and I'm looking forward to Saturday,” he said.
Gerry was going on night shift last Saturday evening when he was called back to say his wife, Siobhan wanted to talk to him.

“Since then, there has been so much excitement. I'm getting phonecalls and people calling in. Everyone is wishing me luck and congratulating me,” he says.
Gerry, who is originally from Co Leitrim, but who has lived in Skryne for 20 years has three children,Leah, Amy and Niall.
“I don't buy scratch cards that often, but Niall posted two for me at Skryne Post Office last week and it must have been one of them that came out,” he said.
Gerry got to spin the wheel the first time he appeared on Winning Streak and it landed on the €250,000 prize. He had earlier won €28,200 during the rest of the programme.
“It was a huge amount of money, but it wasn't big enough to change my life. I'm still working.
He's naturally nervous about appearing on the television, even if he has been on it before.
“I've been getting a lot of slagging as well as good wishes from colleagues and friends,” he says,
A group of 22 supporters will travel up to Dublin on Saturday for the show.
“I have to be there at 11am for rehearsals and then it is recorded at around 2.30pm and broadcast in the evening.”
He doesn't know if he'll get to spin the wheel this time, but says “I'll take whatever is going. I have a young family, so I'll find a place for it,” he said.
