It’s time to saddle up for the annual Meath Heritage Cycle

Cyclists of all abilities are being encouraged to saddle for the Meath Heritage Cycle and support Enable Ireland in the process.
Enable Ireland provides Early Services in Meath for children with disabilities. The services provided include: clinical assessment, therapy, education, training and family support.

These are vital services promoting personal development of children with disabilities, which enables independence, choice and inclusion.
Funds raised over the weekend of the tour will be invested in multi use sensory rooms for children – these rooms are specially designed environments which give users an opportunity to completely relax or access a wide range of sensory experiences for therapy, learning or fun.

They are used by people of all ages and all abilities for relaxation, focused work, stimulation, physiotherapy, communication, sensory motor development and stress release.

Spectators and cyclists alike are asked to support this worthy charity over the weekend of the cycle tour.
The 9th Meath Heritage Cycle tour, part of the Sport Ireland Cycle series (formerly An Post) is organised by Meath Local Sports Partnership. The tour will take place over the weekend of July 29th and 30th. The organisers anticipate in excess of 3,500 cyclists will descend on Trim for this weekend.

The Sport Ireland Meath Heritage Cycle tour is made up of four distances: 11k Family Spin; 50k Tara Loop; 100k Royal Tour & 160k Royal Challenge. The 11k Family spin takes place on Sat 29th with the other three distances taking place on Sunday 30th.
So whether you are an avid cyclist or just dusting down the bike for the first time this year, there is a distance to suit your ability!

This year's much awaited Meath Heritage Cycle tour jersey was also unveiled this week. The jersey design celebrates the rich heritage of Meath and it's county colours by interlacing a vivacious yellow against a vibrant teal background.

As part of the tradition of past years, the jersey promotes one of Meath’s iconic and very popular tourism sites – St John's Castle in Trim. All cyclists registering for the 50k, 100k & 160k distances will receive the jersey as part of the entry fee.
