New Applegreen station for Navan

Applegreen is scheduled to open in Navan Retail Park in early 2018 following planning permission from Meath County Council. The development of the service area is due to commence later this year with plans to construct a fuel forecourt offering ‘low fuel prices, always’. In addition, a 5,000 square feet building will be constructed comprising a retail unit and a number of food and beverage offers including a drive-through restaurant.
Meath County Council consider this site a gateway site to Navan town therefore a considerable amount of effort was put into the store design by Applegreen to ensure it is an attractive feature on site in addition to servicing its customers' needs. The new service station will be located on the Northern Link Road which connects north Navan to the M3 motorway and caters for over 34,000 cars every day.
Applegreen is a major fuel forecourt retailer in the Republic of Ireland with a significant and growing presence in the United Kingdom. As at 31 December 2016, it had 155 sites across the Republic of Ireland, 77 sites in the United Kingdom and 11 sites in the United States. Applegreen is also the leading motorway service area operator in Ireland.
Navan Retail Park has recently had success with several planning applications with more new stores opening in the pipeline. It has a floor area of 120,000 square feet and houses TK Maxx, Smyths Toys, Petmania, DID Electrical, Halfords and Homebase. It also has 1,100 free car parking spaces.
Conor Lucey, Applegreen’s Head of Retail Operations in Ireland said: “We are delighted the planning application has been successful and to have a presence in Navan Retail Park. This will be a great addition to the town and will provide employment to at least 35 people. We have seen tremendous success in our forecourts throughout Ireland and UK and are looking forward to open our new Navan Retail Park Service Area early next year.”
Navan Retail Park is asset managed by Sigma Retail Partners. Freda O’Donnell, Asset Manager from Sigma, said: 'We are very excited to announce that this development is going ahead. This will be a brilliant addition to both Navan town and Navan Retail Park bringing much needed food, beverage and associated facilities to the retail park.'
