Joe Sheridan in as second-half number one in Kiltoom

Joe Sheridan returned to action for Meath tonight in a SF Challenge against Roscommon at Kiltoom where Meath won by 4-17 to 2-16 following a high-scoring contest.

On this occasion the big Seneschalstown man was deployed between the posts as a half-time substitute goalkeeper for Donaghmore / Ashbourne's Jack Hannigan who started in the seeven-point victory for manager Andy mcEntee's side. 

Meath were adrift by two points (1-9 to 2-8) at half-time with Rathkenny's Donal Keogan scoring the goal while Ruairi O Coileain, Graham Reilly and Fiachra Ward each claimed a brace of points.

Eamonn Wallace, Cian O'Brien and Paddy Kennelly completed the first-half points tally.
Meath scored three second-half goals with two from Brian Sheridan, one from the penalty spot, and Ward who also found the net as the Royals popped over the points to claim a narrow victory.

Meath will play Westmeath tomorrow in another challenge game as preparations continue for the start of the O'Byrne Cup against Wicklow on Sunday 8th January.
