New job with Meath Local Sports Partnership.

Here's Lucy - Highs and lows this week

Welcome to week four of my blog update. I hope you are all availing of the beautiful sunshine of the past few days because I know I am.

This week I had both highs and lows. Lets start with the lows - I gained one pound, uh oh!! I am not being hard on myself over it as I am putting it down to being out of my regular routine. I kept my exercise up by adding in some gym work too. However, my food diary wasn't up to scratch. I feel my time off from work set me back as my days seemed longer and my taste buds got sweeter. I wasn't out of control but let just say I could have been better. The exercise kept me in good spirits.

I have tried various meals using meat from Hogan's Farm, my favourite was the Ginger Turkey this week. You can see the recipe on my Facebook Blog 'Love Lucy X' . I know once I get back working my routine will be back and my meals will be prepped.

THE HIGHS

I am now an employee of Meath Local Sports Partnership. Meath LSP's central aim is to plan, lead and coordinate the development of sport and physical activity amongst everyone within the county. My background is in health and fitness with a bachelor of business in event management – so this position suits me perfectly. Part of my role will be to work with local communities in developing sport and physical activity opportunities – so if you have an idea you would like to explore, drop me a line at mlsp@meathcoco.ie

The Royal County 5km & 10km are taking place on Monday 2nd May in Kells. I'm doing the 5km distance – really looking forward to it. It's a nice route, little bit tough but sure there's no point in doing something unless it's a challenge! Early bird registration is open until Thursday 28th – check out http://www.meathsports.ie/event/royal-county-5k-10k/ to enter. It's an extra €5 on the day to register.

The 10k route is a new addition this year and is already proving to be quite popular judging by the amount of people registering! Routes and entry forms are all available from www.meathsports.ie I have seen the t shirt for the event – looks fabulous, this is included in the entry fee, as is refreshments along the route and afterwards in the Headfort Arms Hotel.

I am taking part in the DKIT 10km this week with my friend Emma. I aim to jog and walk this route to build myself up for the VHI Women's Mini Marathon in June, this will be a good taster.

I look forward to the week ahead being back to work with lots of new experiences & challenges.
