Here's Lucy - March madness overcome!

Hello everyone, it’s me back again – Lucy Dillon, with my second weekly blog update for you all.

Let’s start with the March Madness. I had just finished Operation Transformation and it was then just me, myself and I on my own in the big tempting world out there. It meant my camera person wasn’t with me five days per week recording everything I was doing and eating. It was down to me now - SCARY!

I won’t lie – I found it tough being detached from my weekly routine for the show. The better news is, I didn’t lose the run of myself all together. I maintained my weight throughout the month of March and kept up my own fitness regime which is training for the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon in June.

I had a couple of nights out at different events in my local area which did throw me off slightly.

Usually in the past if I had a bad day I would end up having a bad week which followed to a bad month and then the cycle would begin again. I am thrilled to admit this didn’t happen, I was terrified of this.

On the brighter side, we are now in the month of April, yippee! It’s getting closer to the summer season. I have bought my first pair of denim shorts yesterday and aim to fit into them during the summer. I have never worn a pair of these before, only football shorts. I am training three to four times per week to keep fit and aim to job most of the 10k in June for VHI Women’s mini marathon.

I love to this in the morning time as it sets me up for the day both mentally and physically. I have had a few people ask me where I get my motivation from. I get it from me – you need set out a plan and take action. The more you think about starting something the longer it takes to start. I can honestly say one you start you will feel the benefits straight away.

I am taking part in the Navan learn to run group every Tuesday also. This is for all abilities and it’s amazing to see so many people out each week, I just love it. The Group is now on week five and is jogging a full 4k. Who would have ever thought you could improve in such a short space of time?

I am very excited to tell you all I will be starting a new job with the Meath Local Sports Partnership mid-April. I am over the moon with this opportunity as I studied both Health and Fitness and Event Management in college, it ties both studies together. I feel everything is coming together for me. The partnership aims to engage more and more people with physical activity in Meath. I will keep you all updated with events and courses when I start.

I am currently enjoying my time with my daughter Molly Therese until then. She is now one and a half so it is all go go go. I suppose being a mammy, holding down a full time job and running a house can be very difficult at times but you just need to plan and be prepared for the right things to happen, only you can do this.

Its only 12 weeks until July – imagine losing 2.5 pounds per week, that’s over two stone dropped by then. I have set myself a target to lose two stone by then, you can too.

I am getting weighed tonight at my Slimming World group in Kells – you can find out how I get on by following my Facebook page ‘Love Lucy x’ or Snapchat ‘lucydillon1’

It’s your move - chat to you all next week.
