Here's Lucy - minus 3.5lbs!

Hello everyone - welcome to my third weekly blog update.

Let’s start with my recent weigh in. I was down 3.5 pounds which leaves me only a half-pound away to jump into the 14 stone category. I am super excited as it has been three years since I have been this weight.

I am just thrilled to let you all know I am teaming up with Hogans Farm in Cortown to bring all of my lovely followers a variety of healthy recipes on my Facebook Blog using turkey and other local products.

Throughout the coming weeks, they will also be updating their website with recipes and new products to give everyone tasty ideas.

I was chatting to Alison Curtis on Today FM last Saturday morning about my training progress for the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon.

I am now on Week 8 of my Marathon training programme and, more importantly, I have reached the halfway mark. In just 8 weeks’ time I will be preparing to jog most of my first 10km. This does sound daunting but I have to remember that there’s still plenty of time to prepare. I am using the remaining time to improve the areas of my training that I feel I am slacking in. I feel that now is a good time to sit down and assess my progress to date and make sure I am still on course to achieve my goals on June 6th.

I have registered for the DKIT 10km next week. This will give me a taster as to how I am progressing with my training.

I will be delivering an hour’s public speaking session to a local company this week. I have tailored this talk to make it motivating and inspiring and to give some useful tools to help others. I personally would love to motivate others to help start their own journey too.

This week I took part in my local Park Run in Navan and jogged the full 5km. Each week there seems to be more and more people participating, it’s great.

I could really feel that my body was very tired after this due to sleepless nights with my daughter Molly. She has been a little under the weather this week and her sleeping pattern is not the usual. My body is shattered which throws me off my food and exercise plan slightly.

This is the time now to not let my good work slip down the slope. I plan to catch up on some rest time, drink plenty of water and plan ahead. I will be getting weighed tomorrow so fingers crossed my sleepless week didn’t throw me off completely. If you want to follow a training and food plan it is very important to get enough sleep each night for your body to be able to function at its best.

I look forward to the week ahead as its getting closer now to start my new position with Meath Local Sports Partnership.

This is your week folks, set targets & reach for the stars.
