Spectators enjoyed go games at hurling finals

Meath hurling officials made the best possible use of Pairc Tailteann on Sunday when the old stadium hosted the two big club games of the year with the intermediate and senior finals played in front of an crowd estimated at between 2,000 and 3,000 (awaiting confirmation).

While both adult games provided lots of entertainment, it was the young boys and girls from Kildalkey, Kiltale, Clann na nGael and Wolfe Tones who also made a big contribution to the enjoyment of the day for the spectators.

Teams from Wolfe Tones and Clann na nGael provided the interval entertainment for the spectators during the IHC decider that ended in a draw with a replay scheduled for next weekend.

During the interval for the senior game, it was the turn of the young players from Kiltale and Kildalkey to play in front of the packed stand.

There was great excitement amongst the players and they all had an enjoyable day out - some of the young players took the opportunity to get their hurleys autographed by their heroes during the presentation following the senior decider.
