Slick trim clock up comfortable win over boardsmill

Playing some slick hurling Trim made it two wins from two games in the SHC when they defeated Boardsmill, 3-14 to 0-12 at Kildalkey this evening.

Eamonn Clancy's side made a perfect start to their campaign with a first round victory over Kilmessan and they followed it up with a deserved victory over Boardsmill who faded in the second-half.

With the help of goals from Damien McGee and James Toher Trim led 2-5 to 0-8 at the interval.

They really turned on the style in the second-half steadily adding on the points and in the closing stages Neil Heffernan sealed the win with a third and superbly-taken goal.

Alan Douglas also had a big influence for the winners with his four points from play significant.

Boardsmill led for brief spells in the opening half thanks mainly to scores from Niall Weir from frees while Cathal Flattery was also influential. Weir finished with 0-9 to his name seven from frees.

However in the second-half Trim found an extra gear to secure a win that reinforces the view they will be a force to be reckoned with in the race for the Jubilee Cup.
