Skryne's Conor O'Brien seeks to escape the clutches of Ballinlough's Cian Mallen.

Skrynes point way to hattrick of championship wins

Skryne showed their ability to pick off scores and defeat a tenacious Ballinlough side by 0-14 to 2-4 in the SFC at Kells this evening.

With Mark Battersby firing over five points, including one superb effort from near the corner flag, Skryne made it three wins from three.

Ballinlough led 1-3 to 0-5 at the interval with Kevin Devine finding the net for them however a Harry Rooney-inspired Skryne came back strongly in the second-half to win.

Brian Davis was also prominent for the Tara men with three fine points from play.

Ballinlough, who had Peadar Byrne sent off in the closing stages, managed to engineer a second goal late on from Tommy McCullen but it turned out to be a mere consolation with the impressive Sean Geraghty getting their only second-half point.

Tom Shine's side never stopped working but they were unable to garner enough points despite a very good opening half. Ballinlough have now one win from three games.
