No joy for meath ladies at sean newman park
Meath lost more ground today in the Ladies NFL Div 2B when they were eclipsed by Westmeath in a re-fixed fourth round game at Sean Newman Park, Bohermeen.
Meath were on level terms at half-time 1-3 to 0-6 with Geraldine Doherty finding the net for Meath.
However, Meath failed to score in the second-half and were facing an uphill struggle from the moment Westmeath's Johanna Maher found the net soon after the resumption.
Westmeath continued to pick off the points as Meath huffed and puffed and put in plenty of effort without any reward on the scoreboard.
Westmeath goalkeeper Sarah Keegan made a good save near the end when she denied Laura Griffin what would have been a consolation goa.
