Donal Skehan

Kitchen hero in venue solstice and rte

Donal Skehan is back with a brand new series, Kitchen Hero: Donal's Irish Feast which, as the name implies, offers a culinary and visual spectacle. In each programme, Donal travels to a different county and visits three small, often quirky, food producers. He then cooks three dishes using the producers’ ingredients to create the eponymous Feast in a spectacular country house to which the producers are invited.

In programme one on Thursday 13th November at RTÉ ONE on 7pm, Donal visits three of Galway’s finest artisan food producers - Connemara Smokehouse (salmon), Connemara Hill Lamb, and Cuinneog Buttermilk.

He then prepares the first ‘Feast’ in this new series at the spectacularly located Lisdonagh House in Headford,Co Galway.

The new series of Kitchen Hero is once again sponsored by leading Irish convenience retailer SPAR, which has partnered with Donal on the show since 2011. Kitchen Hero: Donal's Irish Feast is produced and directed by David Hare of InproductionTV for RTÉ.

2014 has been a busy year for ‘Kitchen Hero’ Donal Skehan, with not one but two RTE TV series - summer’s ‘Rediscovering The Irish Kitchen’ and ‘Donal’s Irish Feast’ airing this autumn. He is also the lead presenter on ‘Junior Masterchef’ on BBC 1 and his ‘Grandma’s Boy’ TV Show debuted worldwide on the Fox International Network. Last year Donal was the first ever Irish chef to tour a “live” cookery show around Ireland. He enjoyed himself so much he has decided to do it again. His Kitchen Hero Two Tour hits the road this November and will see him cook up delicious, everyday, simple home cooked meals live on stage, with lots of fun, loads of food and lashings of audience participation.

The Kitchen Hero tour vists the Venue Theatre, Ratoath, on this Friday, 7th November, and the Solstice Theatre, Navan, on 30th November.
