Seamus O'Rourke as Padraig Potts.

Orourke comedy for walterstown and ramor

Seamus O’Rourke’s latest show, ‘Padraig Potts’ Guide to Walking’ stages in a number of venues in the region over the coming weeks. It will be in Virginia’s Ramor Theatre this weekend, and in Walterstown GAA club on Friday September 19th, presented by Big Guerilla Productions.
‘Padraig Potts’ Guide to Walking’ is a story full of nostalgia, innocence, Olympic standard sex and holy water salad dressing. Funny and tender, it follows the life of Padraig Potts McKiernan, who has a habit of just eating whatever is on his plate -  metaphorically that is - from growing up near the tiny rural village of Drumnamee, County Leitrim in the 70s and 80s  to falling in love with Silvia Lang, a perfect protestant girl, to marrying Mary Tague, the priest’s housekeeper, who he never really liked, to getting rid of Mary Tague and her mother, who he claims invented vinegar, and eventually to the realisation that the world isn’t as big as he first thought.
Seamus O’Rourke has built a very solid fan base around the country over the past few years and is set to charm his audiences nationwide once again with his new show full of the trademark wit we have come to expect of this popular playwright and performer.
Booking for the Cavan show on Friday and Saturday, 5th and 6th September, is at the Ramor Theatre on (049) 854 7074 or online www.ramortheatre.com; for tickets for the Walterstown night, contact Jack Gordon on (086) 8144 523. The show is at 8.30pm on 19th September, with tickets €10.
