Start of O'Byrne Cup game delayed as Meath advance to decider.

The start of today's O'Byrne Cup game in Navan between Meath and DCU was delayed by some 10 minutes due to congestion at the turnstiles as supporters formed a long queue to buy tickets.

There was only one entrance open for the game and that was at the Commons Road end of the ground (old swimming pool end).

Apparently two of the ticket dispensing machines broke down - the attendance was 1,562.

Meath produced a good performance on the pitch when the action got underway and won convincingly by 4-18 to 3-6 after leading by 3-8 to 1-3 at the interval.

The first-half goals arrived from Cillian O'Sullivan (two) and Andrew Tormey from a penalty.

David Bray added a fourth Meath goal in the second-half while DCU also missed a penalty.

Meath will play Kildare in the final at Newbridge next Sunday after the Lilywhites defeated UCD by 5-17 to 2-11.
