Sherlock

The season 3 finale of Sherlock aired last night (Sunday) on BBC2 and raked in an impressive 8.77 million viewers. This episode in particular caused a slight Twitter meltdown as fans drove to the social media site to vent their anguish at the shows finale and the fact they will have to wait until next year to find out what happens to Sherlock and his team. Critics are calling it the best season finale in the shows three seasons but what did you make of it? Were you happy with the ending? Let us know.

#GoldenGlobes, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Thompson, Amy Adams, Taylor Swift

The 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards took place in Beverly Hills, California on Sunday January 12th. Whether you watch it for the fashion, the winners and losers or in hope of some celebrity slip ups, there is no ignoring the Golden Globe buzz as it dominates the Twitter sphere. 12 Years a Slave won Best Motion Picture Drama, “American Hustle” won Best Motion Picture –Musical or Comedy. Matthew McConaughey’s portrayal of an AIDS stricken electrician in “Dallas Buyers Club” earned him The Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama while Leonardo DiCaprio picked up an award for his portrayal of stockbroker Jordan Belfort in the “The Wolf of Wall Street”. Other winners include Jennifer Lawrence (Best Supporting Actress) and Amy Adams (Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy) in “American Hustle”. The Irish contingent did pretty well too with U2 winning an award for Best Original Song for “Ordinary Love” for the biopic “Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom”. One of our favorite moments of the night comes courtesy of funny girl Jennifer Lawrence and Pop Star Taylor Swift on the red carpet. Take a look at the image below… It’s a good one!

Keith Barry, #brainhacker

The first episode of Keith Barry’s new mind-boggling series, Brainhacker, aired last night on TV3 and was greeted with a huge response across Twitter and social media sites. This episode saw him look at the connections between twins and triplets and if there is such thing as “twin-tuition” or a telepathic connection. He also meets the Grandfather of mentalism – David Berglas and martial arts weapons expert Kevin Flynn. This show is coming to venues around Ireland this year and if last night’s episode is anything to go by it’s one not to be missed!

#CBB

Sunday night’s episode of Celebrity Big Brother was not for the faint hearted as it featured a number of tasks. Task Certificate 18 meant that half the house entered an adults only room while the other half of the house were in the “U room”, which was for kids. So, while housemate Dappy sang ‘Happy and You Know It’ with a giant monkey, Lee Ryan was pole dancing in a very unforgiving pair of leather pants. We are still shuddering at the thought of it here in the office! Sam was also given a secret task of pretending to fancy Ollie. However, the situation quickly became unbearably awkward as Ollie admitted he had feelings for the reality star too. Tonight we will find out who’s up for nominations this week.
