Sleeping Beauty panto stages at Helix

Fair City’s Mondo and his Panto dame delighted shoppers when the stars of The Helix Pantomime visited Swords Pavilions Shopping Centre to welcome Santa on Sunday.

Mondo, aka George McMahon, plays the handsome Harry Smiles in The Sleeping Beauty at The Helix which opens on November 29th.

The Sleeping Beauty, played lovely Lauren Nevin as Princess Aurora, charmed the crowds while her courtiers in all their finery entertained them with panto pranks.

Produced by TheatreworX Productions, whose pantomimes are renowned for their “blow your socks off vocals, crafty comic timing and raucous family fun” The Sleeping Beauty at the Helix promises to be their best show yet.

This enchanting fairytale has been given a contemporary Dublin twist that will leave audiences enchanted.

The show boasts a stellar cast of pantomime favourites including the hilarious Aidan Mannion as Comere. Funny man Aidan is back for that will be his 350th comic performance at the Helix.

The dastardly handsome and wickedly funny Eoin Cannon, who has also appeared in Fair City and who previously starred in Disney’s worldwide musical production of Beauty and the Beast, plays Count Comovér.

And one of the most talented stars in Irish musical theatre, Liam Butler, is set to give an outstanding performance as Dame Lola Smiles.

This is TheatreworX Productions’ sixth year at The Helix where the theatrical company run by the Tighe clan, Ireland’s own panto family, have established a reputation for producing the country’s best professional pantomime.

Producer, co-writer and choreographer Claire Tighe has been hailed as Ireland’s Panto Queen. Claire has been working on pantos since she was 16 and The Sleeping Beauty follows on from her hugely successful Helix productions of Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Cinderella, and Jack and the Beanstalk.

TheatreworX Productions’ pantomimes are family friendly productions, run by Ireland’s panto family.

Mum Rita Tighe is the creative force behind the company’s many beautiful costumes. Dad Brian, brother Ciaran and Claire herself look after business as directors of the company, while Claire’s husband, comedian and panto star Aidan Mannion, builds the theatrical sets.
