Kilmessan bid for sweet smell of success at Chanel

Kilmessan’s bid to regain the Leinster Club IHC crown will begin in the plush surroundings of the Chanel, Coolock on Saturday 26th October when they travel to take on Dublin SHC B champions Parnells at 3.0.
Parnells won the SHC B title last Saturday with a 1-16 to 2-10 win over Ballyboden St Enda’s in Parnell Park and will provide a very stiff test for the Meath senior champions who claimed the Jubilee Cup after a five year gap with victory over Longwood earlier this month.
Parnells’ victory in the second tier of Dublin hurling advances them to the Leinster Club IHC campaign and while Kilmessan will be slight underdogs the Meath team will hope to repeat their success of 2008 when they reached the All-Ireland Club IHC semi-final before losing to Galway side Cappataggle.
Less than 70 hours after claiming the Matthew Ginnity Cup for winning the Meath JFC title with a 1-13 to 0-10 victory over Kilmainham, Drumbaragh will embark on Leinster Club JFC duty on Saturday when they take on Wicklow champions Kilmacanogue in Greystones at 4.0.
With two hards games and a couple of nights celebration all thrown in in the last week, Drumbaragh will be slight underdogs for this test, but Meath clubs have traditionally fared well in the Leinster Club JFC and Finian Murtagh’s charges will aim to maintain that proud record.
