Tragedy in Oldcastle

A Meath & District League soccer game was abandoned today in Oldcastle after the body of a local person was discovered close to the Show Hall when a football was being retrieved. 

During the Meath & District Premier Reserve League game between Oldcastle Utd and Bailieboro Celtic in Gilson Park the ball went out of play in the direction of the Show Hall which is adjacent to the soccer pitch.

As the ball was being retrieved the body of a local person was discovered.

The game was abandoned.

Tomorrow's MDL game at Gilson Park between Oldcastle Utd and Newtown Utd has also been postponed.
