Meath hurlers face a semi-final next Saturday against Down.

Meath to face Down in semi-final

Meath hurlers will face Down in the semi-final of the Christy Ring Cup following the results of the quarter-final play-offs.

Kerry will play Kildare in the other semi-final with the venues for the games to be determined in Croke Park on Monday by the process of a draw.

Kildare bounced back from last week's defeat by Meath when they edged out Wicklow by 0-17 to 2-10 after leading by 0-9 to 0-3 at the interval.

Down got the better of Derry by 3-7 to 0-9, it was 0-5 each at half-time.

Meath manager Cillian Farrell is looking forward to next Saturday's semi-final and feels his team has an excellent chance of making it to the decider.

Meath defeated Down in Newry in the opening round of the NHL Div 2B at the end of February.
