Torro players warm up for the final.

Kells/Blackwater win in extra-time

Kells/Blackwater won the North Eastern Counties Schoolboys' League u-13 Cup following a six-goal thriller at the MDL, Navan this morning against Torro Utd.

NECSL official Robbie Connell from Trim Celtic presented the trophy to Kells/Blackwater captain Oisin Smith.

The wind, rain and sunshine - all at different times - made life difficult for both teams.

However, both sides deserve credit as good football was produced throughout as Kells/Blackwater got the verdict and won by 4-2 after extra-time.

Ben O'Reilly gave wind-assisted Torro a first-half lead, but two goals shortly after the resumption had the Kells boys in front.

Oisin Smith and Ciaran Dowling hit the target, Shane McEnery had Torro level near the end.

In extra-time Kamil Stachura struck twice for the Kells boys to secure the trophy.

John Gorman was the referee with assistants Reuben McManus and Roisin McFadden.
