MDL exit Oscar

The Meath & District League exited the FAI Oscar Traynor Trophy at thes emi-final stage today when they were edged out by hosts the AUL.

The top Dublin league had the benefit of home advantage on a bumpy pitch and stole victory with a penalty goal in the 87th minute that was converted by Keith Dunne.

The MDL were deservedly ahead at half-time from Owen Armstrong's goal and could have had a second when David Ward went close.

AUL equalised shortly after the resumption through Damien Cuffe, but the MDL could have forced extra-time when Cormac McArdle got on touch on Mickey Brennan's flick. See video http://youtu.be/uCVuqfwVlds
