New Republic of Ireland away jersey unveiled

Republic of Ireland players, Shane Long, Robbie Brady, James McClean and Keiren Westwood today teamed up with team sponsors, Three, to launch the new Umbro Ireland away jersey.
The new kit will replace the current white and green away kit and will be available to pre-order online from March 11th and be available to purchase in all leading sports retailers nationwide from Thursday 21st March.
The new official Ireland Away kit, tailored by Umbro, has a sleek modern design. The kit colour was specifically chosen to coincide with the dawn of a new era within the team. The absinth green accent pops the FAI crest out of the tonal striped dark jet-set colour giving a bold athletic aesthetic to the jersey. The collar features an “Eire” embroidery to the rear and the shorts and socks are also in the dark jet-set colour trimmed with absinth. The kit is finished off with a beautifully crafted Jet-set coloured Anthem jacket that will be worn prior to kick off.

Speaking at the launch of the new kit, Robbie Brady recognised Sweden’s strengths ahead of Ireland’s World Cup qualifier on 22nd March: “To come back from four down against Germany was an unbelievable result for them and that just shows what they’re capable of. Ibrahimovic is a class act, a world class player but they’ve got other great players also so it’s not just a matter of watching him because they’ve got some dangers all around the pitch.”

Looking forward to their crucial match against Sweden, Shane Long said: “We need a big result against Sweden to keep within touching distance of them and bring it back to Dublin in the future and hopefully get the three points there. We have to go there with the mentality of going there to win but definitely not coming away with a loss. At worst we have to get a draw and keep the group wide open for ourselves to qualify for Brazil. There’re a lot of players in the squad, younger players who have never been to tournaments like this so it’s a great chance for us to do it this year. It all starts in Sweden.”
