Kathleen Nevin, Moynalty


The death took place on 3rd March last of Mrs Kathleen Nevin, Kingsfort, Moynalty, Kells at the age of 82. Mrs Nevin, a native of Maperath, Kells, passed away at her home. Born Patricia Lynch, she trained as a nurse at Walton Hospital, Liverpool where she worked until her marriage in 1957. Her late husband, Michael, was a farmer and Kathleen took an active role in the running of the farm.
She was a member of Moynalty ICA for many years and held the position of secretary for some time. In recent years, deceased was a member of Moynalty Active Retirement. She loved knitting and was an avid reader, and played bingo regularly.
The late Mrs Nevin was very interested in sport, particularly Gaelic football and followed the fortunes of the Meath team closely. She was very much a family person and always took a keen interest in the lives and interests of her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1986, and by her son, also Michael, in 1970, and is survived by her son, Seamus, Kingsfort, Moynalty; daughters Marie Daly, Connells Cross, Bective and Patricia Tevlin, Drumbaragh, Kells; sister, Ellie Fox, Killacunny, Lisduff; daughter-in-law; sons-in-law; grandchildren; sisters-in-law; relatives and friends.
Her funeral Mass, celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Moynalty by Fr Joe McEvoy, PP, Moynalty, Fr Frank Carr, SSc and Fr K O’Boyle, SSc, Dalgan Park. The interment took place at the local cemetery. A month’s memory Mass will be held in the Church of the Assumption, Moynalty on Saturday 13th April at 8.15pm.

Tom O’Neill, Kilbride

The death has taken place after a short illness of Tom O’Neill, aged 82, at his home at Kilbride, Trim.  Mr O’Neill passed away on 4th March last.
Originally from Scurlogstown, Trim, he was predeceased by his wife, Rose, in March 1978.
Deceased worked locally in the 1950s and 1960s for two local farmers, Barney Mullen and John Bligh. He then went to work on building sites in Dublin and had a full car of fellow workers going to the city each day, with numerous pick-up points along the Trim. He subsequently went on to work in Buckleys from where he retired in 1996. Following his retirement he continued to enjoy gardening at his home along with helping his family in any way he could.
He is survived by his son, George; daughter-in-law, Geraldine; grandchildren, Garry, Selene, Ciara, Shane;  brothers and sisters; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, family and friends.
His funeral Mass was celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Kilbride and the funeral took place to the adjoining cemetery. A month’s memory Mass will be celebrated in Kilbride Church on Saturday 6th April at 6pm.

Anna Jeanne Marie Landy, Enfield


Anna Jeanne Marie Landy, Amanda Cottage, Cullentra Rathcore, Enfield, who died on 14th March last, was native of The Netherlands. Mrs Landy (nee Krieger), passed away at Our Lady’s Hospital, Navan, aged 48.
Deceased was a photographer and tour guide, and also worked for IBM and Client Logic. She is survived by her husband, John Landy; son, Jack Landy; and brothers, Carel and Roelof Krieger.
The funeral took place from Jordanstown Church to Jordanstown Cemetery, Enfield, on 19th March last.

Nicholas Leonard, Longwood


The regretted death occurred on 8th March last of Mr Nicholas Leonard, Blackshade, Longwood, at the age of 90, at Mullingar General Hospital.
He was a native of Blackshade, and was born on 6th September 1922. He is survived by his nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, neighbours, relatives and friends.
The funeral took place from Killyon Church to the adjoining cemetery.
