Clones cyclone devastates Meath

Meath opened their NFL Div 3 campaign with a horror show at St Tiernach's Park, Clones today where they lost to Monaghan by 12 points. Monaghan were ahead by 0-7 to 1-2 at the interval with Jamie Queeney claiming Meath's goal as the Royals hit six first-half wides. Meath didn't score again until the closing stages of the second-half when Sean Tobin pointed and then Conor Gillespie found the net from distance. The scores didn't even add any respectability to the scoreboard. Meath travel to Aughrim next Sunday to tackle Wicklow who also lost today to Fermanagh.
