Andrew Lynch and Sizing Europe on the mark

Ashbourne jockey Andrew Lynch added another big race victory to his tally for 2012 when he partnered Sizing Europe to victory in the Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase at Leopardstown today. Lynch had to work hard to guide Sizing Europe to a seventh grade one victory on day two of the Leopardstown Festival to get the better of Robbie Hennessy's Rubi Light. "He'll probably be entered in three races at Cheltenham, the Champion Chase, Ryanair Chase and Gold Cup," stated the trainer Henry De Bromhead. Trainer Gordon Elliott maintained his good strike-rate when winning the juvenile hurdle with Flaxen Flare, a 105,000 Guineas purchase at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses-in-Training Sale in October. Dunshaughlin owner Peter Newell was also in the winners' enclosure today, at Limerick, when Courtly Conduct won the opener, a maiden hurdle, for trainer Mark Roper. Courtly Conduct had finished a close fifth behind Bright New Dawn and Ned Buntline at Fairyhouse on his last run at the beginning of December.
