Dunsany horse wins again

Flemenstar took another step on the road that may yet lead to Cheltenham when winning the grade one John Durkan Chase for Andrew Lynch at Punchestown today. Sent off at an amazing evens in a three-runner race, the Stephen Curran-owned Flemenstar dictated the pace from the start (see video - click on link below if necessary) and won well. The Willie Mullins-trained Sir Des Champs put down a stout challenge turning for home but Davy Russell had no response when Ashbourne jockey Andrew Lynch gave the reins a shake. The Robbie Hennessy-trained Rubi Light was third for Barry Geraghty. Flemenstar is now a contender in the betting for the Cheltenham Golf Cup with Bob's Worth. "We'll have to see how he comes out of this race first. He'll be entered for the Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase as well as the Lexus. I don't want to get to the bottom of him at this stage and, if we feel its best for the horse, he could go for the two-mile race at Christmas," stated a delighted trainer Peter Casey. It's likely that there will be plenty of celebrations in the Dunsany GAA clubhouse tonight. Could we see a fan club starting for the popular Flemenstar? http://youtu.be/45iqkq_kC-E
