Meath dominates camogie's Soaring Stars

Meath and Down dominate this year's Soaring Stars team with thirteen players receiving awards for their displays throughout the season. The awards will be presented at a black-tie event at City West on Saturday, 3rd November. Meath, who won the All Ireland Premier Junior championship received eight awards with team captain Jane Dolan; player of the match Sinéad Hackett as well as Emily Mangan, Aileen Donnelly, Kristina Troy, Claire Coffey, Fiona O'Neill and Aoife Thompson on the final fifteen. Down take five positions with Niamh Mallon and Sarah Louise Carr named in the full-forward line with Karen Tinnelly, Lisa McCrickard and Catherine McGourty also receiving awards. The remaining positions are taken by Kildare's Susie O'Carroll and Sarah Anne Fitzgerald of Laois. The recipients of this year's Intermediate Soaring Stars have also been announced.
