Reprieve for rally as car club rides to rescue

Plans for a Trim Vintage and Veteran Car Rally this year are firmly back on the agenda after the Trim Classic Car Owners Club came on board to lend their support to the event. The rally will now go ahead in Trim's Porchfields on Sunday 9th September. The rally first took place in 1985 and has attracted vintage and classic car owners and enthusiasts from all over the country to Trim on the third Sunday of July each year. However, the committee had decided not to hold the event this year after three successive years of bad weather took its toll. With a small committee, the members also decided to take a year out and try to attract more volunteers and new ideas. After hearing the event was not going ahead, Trim Classic Car Owners Club got in touch with the committee to lend their support and were anxious that the event go ahead in 2012.
