They have set up their own label, Bird Dog Recordings. Oisín says: "We have two new albums coming out this year. One, entitled 'So Long John Fante' was recorded in a converted steel factory, Yellow Arch Studios in Sheffield, where Jarvis Cocker works. The personnel included Richard Hawley's band which includes Colin Eliot, Shez Sheridan and Dean Beresford. The second new album, Hazel Wind, was recorded in Portland, Oregon with M Ward's band". M Ward - Matthew Stephen Ward, is a singer songwriter from Portand, Oregon. Oisín describes the music on the two albums; "The Sheffield album is a warm summer's morning and the Portland album is a winter's day with frost and rusted bicycles!" On the subject material for the songs Oisín says that he hopes that people can take their own meaning from them. The Lost Brothers recorded the songs on their debut album 'Trails of the Lonely' in 2007 in Portland, Oregon. The music that is on their myspace site, www.myspace.com/thelostbrothersmusic, was recorded in the winter of 2007 in The Blue Rooms in Portland, Oregon and the Type Foundry in Portland. After playing at the South X South West event in Austin, Texas, recently, they travelled to Nashville to work on and record new songs at Welcome to 1979 Studios, with musician Brendan Benson, producing. They were assisted on the recordings by Brad Pemberton of The Cardinals on drums, Gill Landry of Old Crow Medicine Show on double bass. Oisín adds that "most of the players who came down to help just happened to be in the neigbourhood at the time we were there". The Lost Brothers were invited by Barbara Orbison's office, Roy Orbison's estate, to contribute a song to a forthcoming tribute album marking what would have been his 75th birthday this year. "We recorded 'Hey Miss Fannie', a very early song that Roy recorded," says Oisín. Roy Orbison recorded the song in 1955 with a group he formed named The Wink Westerners. On May 24th they played at the Bob Dylan 70th birthday 'Salute Him When His Birthday Comes' gig in the Button Factory alongside Liam O Maonlai and the Fleadh Cowboys. They have performed live at Glastonbury, Electric Picnic, Texas (SXSW), New York, Portland, Toronto, Paris, across the UK and in Ireland. They have toured and played with many bands, including Richard Hawley, M Ward, Jolie Holland, The Handsome Family, Micah P Hinson, Richmond Fontaine, Brendan Benson, Mountain Man among others. The Lost Brothers supported Jimmy Webb in The Sugar Club in Dublin in February.
