Panto time in Kells as Robin Hood rides again

Kells Musical and Dramatic Society '76 presents 'Robin Hood', written and directed by John Grant, from Saturday 5th February to Sunday 13th February in St Vincent De Paul Theatre, Kells. Some fine new talent will be on show in this year's 35th annual pantomime, which has a cast of over 80. The leading man is played by the experienced Barry Murray as the dashing hero, and Andrea Martin and her beautiful singing voice makes her debut as the leading girl, Maid Marian. Alan Grant will display his acting talents as the very vain evil Sheriff of Nottingham. The wicked evil and nasty Sly Eyes (Hillary Flynn) flies in to terrorise the village and plague the audience with her evil and nasty plans. The lovable and lively panto dame Sally Knoggin will be played by the one and only Alan Mongey who once again relishes in his loud mouthing wise cracking womanly mantle. The very experienced comic duo of Paul Rogers and Gary Byrne play the hilariously funny men Scruff and Muff, and Sarah Insley plays the role of Friar Tuck with hilarious results. Kevin McLoughlin gets another lead role as he plays Sir Guy, the Sheriff's smarmy henchman. Linda Nelson plays a hip fairy, Sat Nav. Pat Byrne plays King Richard. Newcomers Mairead Duffy plays the gabby Annie Gossip, and Jo Lynagh plays Anna, Maid Marian's servant. Michael McGovern plays the Bishop. The exciting new talent of Colin McGovern plays Little John, Aaron Doyle plays Will Scarlet, James Reilly is Captain of the Guard. Cian Flanagan is Much, the Miller's son. Callum Mc Donnell is the little boy. These actors have great stage presence and a lot of talent and will bring a new dimension to the show. Other roles being played are the chorus of villagers –Emer Gogarty, Sally Murphy, Cian Hannon, Sarah Clarke, Nicholas Fitzsimons and James Farrelly. Village children are Rebecca Murray, Lisa Hamilton, Sadbh Flanagan, Rachel O'Rourke, Tara Connolly, Megan Rogers, Ciara McInerney, Saoirse McInerney, Salomi Riva, Seamus Ennis, Shonagh Smith, Keri Carolan. Kung Fu Ninjas are played by Megan Roe, Dean Thompson, Kevin McCabe, Naoise Murray, Wayne Clarke, Phalim Dunne, Johnny McInerney, Holly Mulholland, Jessica Insley, Eva Carolan, Rebecca Barry, Aoife Dunne. No show would be complete without dancers and this years show is no exception, the dance troupe from the Academy and Agency under the direction of Sheila Garvey has been working very hard and will explode onto the Kells stage to bring you top class dance routines with will enhance the panto yet again. Costumes will be made by the experienced Linda Sheridan. While the stage crew team of Pat Byrne, John Grant, Colin Mc Govern, Kevin McLoughlin, Alan Grant, Brian O'Neill Jnr, and Vinnie Ginnity are working away on the sets. Brian O'Neill and Martin Sheridan are busy assembling the lighting. The committee are all working very hard putting in place all aspects of the production under the watchful eye of director John Grant.
