JobFit to hold courses in Dunboyne

JobFit, the training programme for unemployed people, will hold a number of courses in Dunboyne in the coming weeks and is seeking office space in the area. Cllr Maria Murphy has welcomed the decision by JobFit to run the training courses in Dunboyne. “JobFit provides free support, employability training and recognised qualifications to help people find a job. It is funded under the Labour Market Activation Fund and provides training for people who have been unemployed for more than three months,†she said. “There are people living in Dunboyne and the surrounding area who are unemployed and eager to upskill in this competitive jobs market. There are excellent courses being run in Navan and Trim. There is, however, no direct public transport from Dunboyne to these venues so these courses are not feasible for people relying on public transport,†she added. Cllr Murphy recalled that she attended the launch of JobFit this year and has been directing people towards their services. “I am pleased that JobFit have now decided to run a number of courses in Dunboyne and are seeking office space in the area. This will provide a much needed service for the people in Dunboyne.†JobFit is a free 13-week programme of training for unemployed people to help them improve their skills and find a job and is delivered by TBG Learning in partnership with National Learning Network – both Rehab Group companies. The JobFit programme offers free training that leads to nationally recognised qualifications, work placements with local employers and tailored support and guidance to aid people in looking and applying for jobs. It provides training for those qualified to Junior Cert or below and provides help in looking for a job, improving skills and making job applications stand out. It is open to people who have been in receipt of social welfare payments for three months plus and they might qualify to retain your social welfare payment, while on the Jobfit programme.
