Shane McGowan...Saturday night attraction at Navan Live.

All systems go for Navan Live 2010 this weekend

With only days to go, the biggest music event to hit Navan for 2010 - Navan Live - is set to attract large crowds to the town this weekend. Headliners The Saw Doctors, Sharon Shannon & Big Band, Shane MacGowan and Damien Dempsey, as well as Simon Fagan and Eugene Donegan will all be onstage at Teach Na Teamhrach (the former Balreask Arms), at Trim Road, Navan, ready to wow audiences arriving in their hundreds each night. On Friday 17th, The Saw Doctors will take to the stage with support from Navan's own Simon Fagan and band while on Saturday 18th Sharon Shannon & The Big Band, Shane MacGowan & Damien Dempsey will all take to the stage with support from Eugene Donegan and his backing band, Geriko. Navan Live will take place in a large marquee, and while patrons will be sheltered from the elements, it is advisable to wear sufficient outdoor clothing. Both nights are standing events only. Parking restrictions will be in place at Teach Na Teamhrach with free event parking provided. The promoters, Profile Music Group Ltd, are asking all to arrive early to avoid delays getting into the venue. They are also advising the use of public transport, where possible, and for patrons to follow parking/traffic directions from stewards on the site. Tickets are still available from E2 Music in Navan and Mullingar or online from www.navanlive.com/tickets. While there may be tickets available on the gate each evening, this is not guaranteed so purchasing of tickets prior to event is advised. Tickets for Friday are priced at €28 and Saturday night €34. Weekend tickets are €58. The box office will open from 6pm for tickets and collection of tickets. Gates to the event will open at 7pm, and intending patrons are asked to allow sufficient time for queuing to get through security checks and the ticketing area. Both shows will start at 8pm sharp. A strict over-18s policy will be in place over the weekend, with passport and Garda ID the only forms of Identification accepted by the organisers.
