Simon Fagan will perform at Navan Live 2010.

Fagan and Donegan provide support at Navan Live 2010

Navan Live 2010 organisers (Profile Music Group) have announced their Navan Live 2010 supporting acts. On Friday 17th September, special guest to The Saw Doctors will be Simon Fagan and his band. Blending elements of gospel and folk with acoustic rock, Fagan and his band produce a big Americana sound. With a new album released in May of this year Simon has been receiving accolades both in Ireland and the US. 'Outside Looking In' was named Album Of The Week by RTE, while 'Never Really Cried' picked up Best Performance at this years International Songwriting Competition, chosen from 15,000 entries and voted for by the likes of Robbie Williams, Kings Of Leon, Jeff Beck and many more greats. On Saturday 18th September, special guest to Sharon Shannon and Big Band, Shane MacGowan and Damien Dempsey will be Eugene Donegan and his band Geriko. Eugene's debut album 'Little Apples' was released in 2009. Recorded in Kinvara, Co Galway under the watchful eye of producer Declan O'Rourke, it's set for release this spring. Made up of 11 songs, the album touches on Donegan's hopes and experiences. Despite his Meath roots, he is heavily influenced by American Country Legends. In his music you can hear the unmistakable footprints of Bruce Springsteen, Kris Kristofferson and Johnny Cash, artists whose songwriting reflect honesty and directness, qualities prevalent in Donegan's writing. The Saw Doctors will launch their new CD, 'The Further Adventures of The Saw Doctors', at the Navan Live Festival at Teach na Teamhrach on Friday September 17, the Irish release date for the Galway band's first studio album in five years. The Further Adventures of The Saw Doctors CD has just received a four-star review from the Irish music bible Hot Press and features eleven new songs including the current hit single, 'Takin' The Train', the delicious Buddy Holly harmonies of 'Someone Loves You' and the emotion packed closing track 'Goodbye Again'. The new Saw Doctors album was recorded over the last twelve months in Grouse Lodge Studios in Co Westmeath and in Rockfield Studios in Wales, under the direction of veteran UK Producer, Philip Tennant, who also produced the bands debut album back in 1991, 'If This Is Rock & Roll, I Want My Old Job Back'. The Navan Live concert by The Saw Doctors on Friday 17th September will be the band's first ever visit to Navan. It was back in the summer of 1990 that 'I Useta Lover' burst onto the Irish radio scene and went to Number One in September of that year for a nine week stay at the top of the Irish charts.
