George McMahon in 'God's Official'.

Madcap football comedy for Ramor Theatre

Ramor Theatre, Virginia, is staging City Theatre's production of 'God's Official' a madcap comedy starring legendary Irish actor, Mick Lally (Glenroe), George McMahon (Fair City) and rising star, Edwin Mullane. On Saturday next, 19th June, audiences will have the chance to see a performance of this play which won the Spirit of the Fringe Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and is the middle of a 25-venue national tour. The theme of the play is simple: To some people football is a matter of life and death, to others it is far more important than that! Degsy and Cliff are gutted when a perfectly good goal is disallowed, sending their team crashing into the relegation zone. The referee's decision is final - or is it? Taking matters into their own hands the two lads come up with a plan to kidnap the ref and force him to change his mind on the all important goal with hilarious and unexpected consequences. Tickets are available from the theatre at (049) 854 7074.
