Dunshaughlin boxers impressive form at debut event

Members of the newly-formed St Seachnall's Amateur Boxing Club competed in their first major competition earlier this month, the Meath and Louth championship at the CYMS Hall, Navan and clinched a number of titles. All the club's participating boxers achieved a medal while competing against some of the best fighters from across the north east. Dunshaughlin boxers who took part included Gareth Wolohan, Tom Stokes, Niall Hannon, Joseph Carroll, Glen Hegarty, Aodhan Woods, Vernon Carroll, Liam Little, Timothy McDonagh, Amy Mulvany and Johnny Stokes.According to Meath Boxing Co Board secretary and Navan BC official Declan Sheridan the championships went off smoothly with the semi-finals on a Thursday and the finals on the Sunday. "We were very happy with the way championships, everything went smoothly we had a number of good, competitive bouts," he added.Sheridan has taken over as Meath Boxing Club secretary from Des Donnelly who has moved to take up the role of the Leinster secretary.
