Supper at Solstice with Poe

Solstice Arts Centre presents 'Poe Show' on Saturday 24th October, the fourth short drama to be performed as part the successful Supper at Solstice evenings which entwine a night at the theatre with wine and cheese. Poe Show is a haunting piece of gothic theatre that pays tribute to the master of macabre fiction, Edgar Allan Poe. Described as "mighty craic and delivered with spine-chilling, hilarious gusto", Poe Show promises a deliciously dark descent into the maelstrom of one of history's most frenzied imaginations. The show was initially staged in January, in Dublin's Bewleys Cafe Theatre to mark the 200th anniversary of Poe's birth and has since been further developed in response to the public's appetite for the mysterious and the macabre. Created by Michael James Ford, it fits together three of Poe's famous short stories and poems including 'The Tell-Tale Heart', 'The Raven', 'Annabel Lee', 'The Cask of Amontillado' and 'The Bells' for a 50-minute feast of gore and suspense. Poe Show was also featured at this year's Electric Picnic. Tickets are €16 and are on sale now from Solstice Arts Centre Box Office on (046) 909 2300 or online at www.solsticeartscentre.ie.
