Managerial fiasco back to square one

The Meath GAA Co Committee have asked clubs to put forward names for the position of senior team manager as the processs to find a new manager gets underway once more. Clubs have been requested to have their nominations in by next Wednesday at the latest and as part of the process a new sub-committee is to be set up to find a new manager. This is the second time the Co Committee have embarked on the long process of finding a replacement for Colm Coyle after the previous attempt, ended in confusion. Co Committee chairman Barney Allen said they were not in a position to put forward a candidate at a meeting last Monday night despite the fact that Luke Dempsey was chosen by three members of a five-man sub-committee to go before the delegates for ratification. Dempsey has since withdrawn his name describing the series of events as 'bizzare'. Other managerial positions yet to be filled are the minor, u-21 and junior county teams.
