Cathal brady set for fai cup replay

Drogheda Utd player Cathal Brady is looking forward to the FAI Cup quarter-final replay against Derry City next Tuesday evening at the Brandywell he told the Meath Chronicle this evening after completing his duties as physio for Dunboyne in the JFC semi-final against Simonstown at Dunshaughlin.

The Dunboyne man said that it was an unusual game last Friday night at United Park where the hosts finished with eight players after a series of red cards and still held out for a 2-2 draw.

Drogheda's Peter McGlynn was sent off  on the half hour mark with the score at 1-1 after Alan McNally cancelled out Ryan McBride’s opener for Derry before Shane Grimes was dismissed.

McNally then headed the nine men back in front on 52 minutes and it appeared as though Drogheda would hold on for a famous win before Phillip Lowry forced a replay. Gavan Holohan receiving a second yellow in added on time.

'It will be tough going to the Brandywell as we have a lot of suspensions, but at least we will have 11 to start with and we will have to keep 11 on the pitch this time to have any chance,' commented Brady who missed Friday night's game.

Today in Dunshaughlin he was kept busy treating injuries and knocks as Dunboyne made it to the decider, he will be on duty with as physio Dunboyne for the Feis Cup final on Friday evening and then with Drogheda on Saturday at the Showgrounds in a busy schedule.
