Navan aiming for victory against Midleton

Navan RFC will be on the road south tomorrow when they make the journey to Cork to tackle Midleton in a crucial AIL Div 2C game which the Meath men need to win.

Midleton officials have made great efforts to make sure the game will take place after the flooding or recent weeks which left their ground under water.

However, Midleton came to Navan before Christmas and recorded a narrow 14-13 win, but tomorrow Navan coach Alan Kingsley and his players will be aiming to make amends as they target a top four finish.

Since losing to Midleton, Navan have bounced back impressively with a 28-18 win in the second of the back-to-back clashes with Wanderers and a stunning 37-11 victory over local rivals Boyne.

With six wins from their 11 outings Navan lie in fifth spot, just outside the top four position.

The trip to Cork is a crucial one if Navan are to maintain their promotion hopes.

Much of Navan’s excellent pre-Christmas form was based around a solid forward unit.
