Tattersalls sponsors Russell for Cheltenham

Tattersalls Ireland, the Ratoath-based bloodstock auctioneers, have announced the sponsorship of Ireland’s reigning Champion National Hunt jockey, Davy Russell at the world’s biggest National Hunt Festival, Cheltenham next week.

Managing Director, Roger Casey commented: “We are delighted to be associated with Ireland’s Champion National Hunt jockey Davy Russell and we feel that it is fitting for us, Tattersalls Ireland, being the Europe’s Leading National Hunt Bloodstock Auctioneers. Davy is an excellent ambassador for the sport and has enjoyed great success at Cheltenham with Tattersalls Ireland graduates Weapon’s Amnesty and First Lieutenant. We wish him every success for the Festival next week”

Russell  - whose mother Phyllis hails from Carnaross, Kells - said:  “I am delighted that Tattersalls Ireland have come on board to support me for the Cheltenham Festival next week. Tattersalls Ireland is renowned for being the source of top National Hunt horses and next week will hopefully see these horses feature in the winners’ enclosure.”

Tattersalls Ireland continues to be the consistent source of National Hunt Festival success producing no less than 30 Festival winners in 2012 including dual Champion Bumper winner Champagne Fever, a Derby Sale graduate, along with along with RSA Chase winner Bobs Worth, multiple Grade 1 winner Flemenstar and Champion Hurdle winner Rock On Ruby to name just a few.
