Dunboyne athlete sets new National record

Dunboyne athlete Roisin Bell made an impressive 200m debut for Irerland at the European Masters Indoors Athletics Championships in Madrid this week where she made it to the semi-finals.

Bell was crowned W45 National Indoor 200m champion in 28.96s at the Athlone Indoor Arena earlier this month,

Finding an improvement on that time, she ran a new W45 National Record of 28.87s in qualifying for the semi-final, but she didn't make the cut for the final in a highly competitive event.

Michael Cornyn was also in action at the Madrid Championships in the M55 800m, but his participation was curtailed when he picked up an injury.
