Fashion Stakes at Bellewstown next week
The first action of 2016 at Bellewstown is set for next week with the annual three-day July Festival due to start on Thursday 30th June and continuing on Friday and Saturday with former Miss World Rosanna Davison (pictured) set to jude the 'fashion stakes' on Friday 1st July with a trip to Abu Dhabi for the winner.
Racecourse Manager Kevin Coleman said: “We’re all set to welcome everyone to the hill for another fantastic July Festival. Friday is the social highlight of the three days and we are expecting a great turnout of well-dressed racegoers vying to win one of the wonderful prizes sponsored by fantastic local businesses. Hopefully the recent fine weather will continue right through to Family Day on the Saturday where we will have entertainment for all the family.”
As usual, the popular 'best dressed lady' competition will guarantee lots of glamour at the hillside track on Friday with top prizes on offer for the best dressed lady, best dressed man and best dressed couple on Friday evening.
Included in the prizes are a trip for two to Abu Dhabi with three nights in a five-star hotel, sponsored by Globe Travel in association with Etihad Airways. This year’s event will be judged by former Miss World, actress, singer and nutritionist Rosanna Davison.
Second prize in the best dressed lady competition is a break for two at the five star g Hotel in Galway city while the prize for third place is a €500 voucher for Fuschia Make-up, who will have representatives in attendance on the day with their new ‘GlamHerVan’.
The best dressed man will walk away with a voucher for €500 from Briscoe’s Expert Megastore and the runner-up will enjoy a four-month membership at Integral Gym in Drogheda or Bettystown.
The best dressed couple will receive a weekend for two in the four star Randles Hotel or Dromhall hotel in Killarney, including an evening meal.
“I love nothing more than a day at the races and checking out the latest fashion and I embrace all the latest styles,' commented the former Miss World.
'I absolutely love coming to Bellewstown Ladies Day – the craic and fashion is incredible and the ladies never disappoint.
'Although I do love designer labels, I also have a big draw to high street fashion, so whatever your budget, you are in with a chance of winning one of the really fab prizes.

Thursday is a mixed card and the first evening of racing on the Hill of Crockafotha.
Saturday is family day, with a wide range of activities including face painting, a balloonist, Front Runner - Racing Club for Kids, pony rides and treats for all the children.
