One-two for Cromwell at Gowran

Gigginstown may have had second, third and fourth behind a Willie Mullins winner in the big race at Gowarn today, but Meath trainer Gavin Cromwell had the first two home in the Byrne Marquees Handicap Chase with two 11-year-olds.

As De Pique gained a second win of the year for regular jockey Brien Kane over stablemate Raz De Maree which is owned by Jimmy Swan and was running for the first time since unseating Davy Russell at Punchestown last April .

The trainer indicated that the Munster National, the Cork National and the Troytown Chase at Navan are all targets for the veteran chasers.

Regarding the feature race mentioned above, the Noel Meade-trained Road To Riches finished second to the Willie Mullins-trained Ballycasey in the featured Grade 2 PWC Champion Chase at the Kilkenny track.
