Heavey and Clynch honoured

Meath’s impressive run to the semi-finals of the Christy Ring have been recognised with Champions 15 selections for two key figures on that team, Kilmessan’s Steven Clynch and Kildalkey’s Sean Heavey.
Clynch played through the pain barrier to be an inspirational player and Meath’s leading scorer, while Heavey was a colossus for Cillian Farrell’s side as they made it to the last four where they lost out after a replay to eventual winners Down,
The awards will be presented at Friday night’s GAA GPA Allstars banquet at Croke Park.
“I’d like to offer my congratulations to all of our award winners on the achievement of making these three selections and being honoured for their skill and dedication on the field of play after a year to remember for hurling,” said GAA President Liam O’Neill.
“I hope these awards shine a light on the superb skills of so many of our hurlers who grace these competitions year in, year out.”
