Sigerson Cup success for Menton

Donaghmore/Ashbourne player Bryan Menton helped Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT) to the Sigerson Cup for the first time with a 3-8 to 0-7 victory over 20-time winners University College Cork (UCC) in today's decider at Athlone IT. Menton was also nomintaed as the TG4 man of the match to complete a great day for the Donaghmore/Ashbourne man.. UCC were also reduced to 14 men in stoppage time when referee Maurice Deegan issued a red card to second-half substitute Darragh O'Sullivan although that no impact on the result. First-half goals from Ciaran Reddin and Jason Doherty helped DIT establish a 2-4 to 0-4 interval lead. DIT dominated after the break and added another goal before the end.
