Johnstown set to go  'barking mad' this weekend

A Navan community is going 'barking mad' this Sunday, June 24th, in an effort to encourage residents to be more responsible for their dogs.

A dog day will be held in the local park to give pet-owners free information and advice on dog care, obedience, health and nutrition.

Local vets, the Last Hope Charity, Meath dog warden Alan Nolan, dog behaviourist Julie Holmes are among the dog-loving guests who will be on hand at the event in the park between 10.30am and 1pm.

The day was organised by Johnstown Tidy Towns in an effort to curb the ongoing dog litter problem in the area, caused by some of the hundreds of pets in the neighbourhood.
