Death of Skryne GP, Dr Rose Clarke

The death has occurred following a short illness of Dr Eleanor Rose Comyn-Clarke,  retired general practitioner in the Tara area.

She passed away on Thursday in the Mater Hospital, Dublin, having taken ill in the days before Christmas. 

Only retired in recent years, Dr Clarke, who was in her mid-eighties, was involved in local organisations such as the historical society, and was a regular visitor to the Hill of Tara. She was to be seen walking her dogs close to her home at Rosepark House, Oberstown.

She and her late husband, Dr John A Clarke, were originally based at the dispensary on Tara before moving to Skryne.

Predeceased by her husband, she is survived by family, Michelle and Shane,  grandchildren, Conor, Molly, Gile, Anna and Tom, sister Marcy, her extended family, relatives, and her many dear neighbours and friends.

Dr Clarke will repose at Ryan's Funeral Home, Ashbourne from 4pm to 6pm this Sunday evening, with removal on Monday morning to St Colmcille's Church, Skryne, arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am. Burial takes place afterwards in Bishops Quarter Cemetery, Ballyvaughan, Co Clare, arriving approx 2.30pm.
