To whom it concerns ..... Navan girls to play violin on Late Late Toy Show

Six very talented musicians from St Paul’s National School in Navan will be among the stars of the Late Late Toy Show tonight.

While children across Meath will be sitting up late on Friday to watch the most looked forward to show of the year, these six lucky girls will actually get to visit the set themselves and perform in the show.
The six are violinists from St Paul’s National School and are all aged between 10,11 and 12.
They are Ana Murphy, Ruth Moran, Aoife Connell, Ciara Ward, Glenda Smith and Nathalia Czajka.
“It is a fantastic opportunity for the children and we are very proud of them,” says principal, Patricia Fahy.

“We have been running a programme in the school for the past four years, where every child from second to sixth class learns to play the violin. Music is a universal language and we give them the opportunity to learn to

play and as adults they can travel the world and make friends through music,” said Ms Fahy.

The six who will perform in Friday night’s Late Late Show went through rigorous auditions before getting the good word that they had been accepted a couple of weeks ago.
“We were all delighted and the whole school will be looking at the show on Friday night.”
RTE rules mean that the pupils cannot say what they will be performing, but  the girls are highly talented and viewers can expect a wonderful performance.
Ms Fahy paid tribute to Maria Mason, the violin teacher who teaches violin to all the boys and girls in the school from second to sixth class. Ms Mason is a renowned violinist herself.
