Stolen €4.3 million returned to council

Meath County Council has confirmed that the €4.3 million in funds, which was the subject of a cyber enabled theft in October 2016 has now been safely returned in full to the council’s bank account.

In a statement this afternoon, the council thanked the police and court authorities in Hong Kong and the Gardaí in Ireland for their support and assistance in securing the return of the funds.
